Foam Generating Agent (National Standard TU U 15.6-00418030-001:2007)

Foam Generating Agent
English

Foam generating agents are liquids of color from light brown to dark brown.

Foam Generating Agent Production:

protein-based foaming agents are produced on the basis of animal protein hydrolysis; foaming agents serve to obtain finely dispersed stable foam for production of graded-density foamed concrete aided by foam generator.

Types of Foam Generating Agents:

  • foaming agent  based on hydrolyzed protein (FHP);
  • protein-based foaming agent made of saponified wood resin (SWR) is a protein-based foaming agent with the application of pine resin.

Foaming Agent FHP

 FHP foaming agent is a modern protein-based foaming agent of high quality for foamed concrete production.

Use of  foaming agent FHP allows to:

  • upgrade strength of foamed concrete for 20...30% in comparison with synthetic foam agents;
  • cut production costs of foamed concrete due to use of cement (brand 400) without loss of product strength;
  • cut cement consumption for 50 kg and more per 1 m³ ;
  • at temperature higher than 16 °С form removal is possible after 15-18 hours without use of accelerating and plasticizing agents.

FHP foam generating agent exhibits plasticizing properties and allows to cut water and cement ratio; as the result the strength of foamed concrete improves.

Foam obtained on the basis of FHP agent does not settle down during 24 hours.

Areas of Use:

  • Protein-based foaming agent is useful in production of commercial concrete as plasticizing and air-entrainment admixture. Use of the foaming agent improves the wettest stable consistence and strength. Optimal dose ranging: 1,6% on dry basis to cement mass.
  • In the dry state it is useful in production of dry shakes and plasterworks. As the result it improves strength, placeability and other fabricating parameters characterizing plastic viscosity, water trapping, ability to delaminate and water retention.

Foamed Concrete Characteristics Produced on the Basis of FHP Foaming Agent:

Figures listed below for non-autoclaved block foamed concrete (brand 600) at cement consumption (brand PC400А) of 350 kg per 1 m³ of foamed concrete.
Strength grade of concrete at compression – В 1,5 (not less than 21,1 kgf/cm²; available strength: 27 kgf/cm²)
Cold-resisting property: not less than 15 cycles.
Conductivity: 0,12 W/ms.
Average density, dry basis: 580 kg/m³.
Use of cement (brand 400) and improvement of the foamed concrete strength are possible due to plasticizing effect of FHP foaming agent, cut of water consumption for addition and linking build-up in hydrating cement. Low conductivity and the strength of foamed concrete are improved due to porous structure that has equal fine pores and stable microporosity. Cold resistance and water trapping are marked by the closed porous structure in the foam obtained from the protein-based foaming agent.

SWR Protein-Based Foaming Agent

SWR foaming agent is made on the basis of wood resin and serves to obtain finely dispersed stable foam for production of graded-density foamed concrete aided by foam generator. Foamed concrete made of such foaming agents is able to harden both in standard conditions and during heat treatment (in autoclaves or steam chambers).

Use of SWR protein-based foaming agent allows to:

  • upgrade strength of foamed concrete for 30-40% in comparison with chemical foam agents;
  • cut production costs of foamed concrete due to use of cement (brand 400) without loss of product strength. Use of SWR foaming agents allows to reduce cement consumption for 50 kg per 1 m³;
  • at temperature higher than 16 °С form removal from non-autoclaved foamed concrete is possible after 15 hours without use of accelerating and plasticizing agents.
  • foam obtained on the basis of SWR agent does not settle down during 24 hours.
